Speeding up Diabetic wound healing

Here at LimbO, our aim is to help you recover from any injury or wound as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, diabetic foot ulcers are a common complication of diabetes, because diabetes affects your body’s ability to heal wounds. Wounds tend to heal more slowly, so it’s important to take really good care of ulcers to prevent them getting any worse. Here are some tips on caring for diabetic wounds, but of course, if you have any concerns, please speak to your doctor in the first instance.

Regularly check yourself for wounds

Detecting a wound early is key to avoiding infection and it progressing. Check yourself as often as you can, all over your feet, to look for small wounds that might appear. It’s best to prevent a wound developing at all.

Fresh Dressings

Keeping any dressings on wounds clean and fresh is of paramount importance. Changing dressings regularly helps reduce bacteria. Your doctor might recommend special dressings for your wound.

Wear a LimbO

Of course, you need to keep clean whilst you’re helping the wound to heal. Our LimbO foot cover means that you can still bathe or shower as usual while wearing a dressing on your foot. The waterproof protector means that you can keep the area dry whilst you wash.
