Lymphoedema or lipoedema? These two conditions can look very similar, but there are important differences. Lipoedema is a long-term (chronic) condition typically involving an abnormal build-up of fat cells in the legs, thighs and buttocks, whereas Lymphoedema is swelling under the skin caused by a build-up of fluid in the lymphatic system – the network of vessels that drains excess fluid from body tissue. The skin of someone with lymphoedema will pit or indent when you press it, but this will not happen with lipoedema.

We’ve already witnessed some amazing performances over the last few weeks, from athletes in all kinds of different disciplines.

This time we’re looking a little bit closer to home, at how kids can have fun over the summer holidays despite the worry of needing to protect themselves from further injury. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare – having one of your children injure themselves badly the second that school breaks up for the holidays. Your child’s been left needing to wear a plaster cast, and their summer is ruined.
