World Health Day
World Health Day is an annual global health awareness day celebrated on 7th April, to mark the foundation of the World Health Organisation. The WHO’s aim is simple “health for all” – to give people access to healthcare, without the risk of financial hardship.
On this important day, we wanted to use the opportunity to draw attention to pressure ulcers and offer some advice on how to deal with them.
Pressure ulcers can be both painful and debilitating, although many of them are preventable. The NHS has a wealth of information on their Stop The Pressure website. The site breaks down the SSKIN model – a five step process to prevent and treat pressure ulcers.
