Why do Legs Matter?

June 4th, 2019

Legs Matter is a campaign to highlight the importance of leg and foot health. From 3rd to 7th June 2019, Legs Matter Week will be explaining how leg and foot problems are one of the biggest health challenges of our time.

The campaign is a coalition of healthcare organisations that have come together to make sure that anyone with a lower leg or foot problem understands their condition and receives the urgent care, attention and support they need. According to the Legs Matter campaign, every day thousands of people have their quality of life affected by the lack of support and advice in preventing leg and foot conditions, as well as the failure to treat them.

At LimbO, we take these issues very seriously. We understand the complications with diabetes that mean wounds can develop and the importance of wound care to encourage healing. Our LimbO waterproof protectors can play an useful role in keeping dressings dry while cleaning.

According to their website, chronic wound care costs the NHS between £4.5 – 5.1 billion each year. More than 40% of these wounds are leg and foot ulcers. But the Legs Matter campaign wants to change this.
