Did you know? This week is National Spa Week, a week created to raise awareness about the emotional and physical benefits of going to a spa. Now if you’ve been recently injured, or are undergoing treatment, you might not be able to attend a spa. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your own temporary spa from the comfort of your house! We’ve put together a list of easy ways to transform your bathroom into a spa-like haven of relaxation. You deserve it!
1.Pick the right room.
The bathroom is probably first choice for most people if you have a bath, as a hot bath can work wonders for relaxing tired muscles. If you don’t have a bath, why not recline on your bed and put on a face mask?
2.Create a relaxing ambience.
Put on some peaceful background music. You don’t want it to be too loud or too busy, but on the other hand you don’t want to have complete silence! There are lots of ready-made ‘spa music’ playlists you can choose from these days on Spotify and iTunes.
4.Run your bath!
Having a lovely warm bath at home is a great way to instantly relax. You could add some Epsom salts to relieve tired muscles, or how about your favourite bath bubbles? You might be able to find some plants to use in your bath from your own garden. If it’s safe to do so, light some candles and hop in.
You don’t need to be a trained masseuse to give yourself a treatment at home. Why not try out a face sheet, or a hair mask? And if you’ve got time to have a quick read of these instructions beforehand, you could even give yourself a quick Indian head massage.
So there you have it! Some simple steps to create a spa environment at home. Enjoy!
