When a child suffers a broken bone, it’s usually caused by scampering around the rocks at the beach, falling from a climbing frame at the park or other such misadventures. But as an adult, our breaks usually happen in more mundane circumstances; tripping on the stairs at work, falling from a chair we stood on to reach the back of the cupboard. Hardly exciting or glamorous!
Yes it’s painful and very inconvenient but there are still plenty of ways to enjoy yourself during the school holidays, and thankfully, a break shouldn’t interfere with consuming chocolate eggs! swimming pools, play-centres and parks are pretty much off the agenda, but here are ways to fill the days before term starts again. It’s not often you are overwhelmed by someone’s passion and commitment to make a difference, but when we met Nick Wright that is exactly what happened. We met Nick at the supermarket whilst he was running a marathon. Yes, you read that correctly – as we were doing our weekly shop, he was running over 26 miles on a treadmill. Why? He was raising awareness, funds and sponsorship for Walkoncemore; an amazing charity which supports cutting edge research into a cure for spinal cord injury.
