General medical advice is that swimming or similar vigorous water activities (e.g. water slides etc.) should be avoided during the healing process and if you are in any doubt you should consult a medical practitioner.
The product can be used for gentle submersion, e.g. in a bath or ‘splashing about’ in a pool provided the following safety procedures are followed:
Activities such as wading/paddling can be done – ALWAYS WITHIN ONE’S DEPTH.
CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES.
NEVER enter a pool unsupervised.
Care must be taken not to tread on any sharp objects such as rocks or stones.
The LimbO can be used in hydrotherapy as part of your medically approved treatment.
Never use the LimbO as a floatation device.
Do not attempt to use the LimbO in recreational activities.
Special note: Full leg casts are heavy and severely restrict movement, so for safety reasons you should not go in a pool or the sea.

The LimbO is designed to be used daily - simply hang it up to air dry after each use. If necessary it can be washed in warm soapy water.
As the LimbO has a soft, flexible neoprene seal it is much easier to put on than other products on the market. Full instructions are included inside the packaging, there are also videos on our website here.
If the cast or dressing extends above the elbow a full arm protector will be required.

There are half leg and elbow covers available on prescription from your doctor or prescribing nurse. These are primarily for those with long term conditions such as leg ulcers or PICC lines/ midlines.
